Fluval CO2 System

Fluval CO2 System

Postby BoCoMo » Thu Nov 01, 2012 6:43 am

I am a sucker for trying something new so when I was setting up my latest tank (a planted 20H) I decided to add the new Fluval CO2 system to it. Really easy to set up (although I think they have had a part switch because the instructions showed a suction cup for the bubble counter but it has a clip on it - nothing a few seconds with a drill bit won't fix) I have only been running it about a week so time will tell if it is a total waste of money or not. Here is the tank currently. Just getting it set up and trying to get some plants established before a final aquascaping. (So don't be too harsh) :)

Would love to hear anyone else's opinions / experience with this system.

I was in the hands-on Fluval lab at the ocnference and now have a Flucal CO2 20gm set -up. Having trouble with it though -- the water backs up into the tubing all the way to the little canister. Is this the system you have and do you have the same thing happen? Called Fluval and they told me to change the tubing -- hasn't helped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't had this problem yet. I am using the bigger of the two kits (not sure on size just at the moment) but it had made a huge difference on my 20 gallon (I need to post an update pic) have you tried placing the bubble counter above the waterline and the CO2 above that? Did fluval say anything about the use of check valves?

Rescaped a few weeks ago. The growth and color with this CO2 is nothing short of amazing to me!

I have to admit I am a big fan of front lighting. I am running two fixtures so I can hit these plants with a ton of light all day but when it is in show mode I am shutting the back fixture off for now and I moved the lighting on the other tanks to the front too. (maybe it's just a phase though)
