DIY wall tank

Postby dave » Fri Nov 02, 2007 10:19 am

I'm thinking of making a wall mount tank and wondering if anyone has any pictures of their design/mfg process? This would be a wintertime project that may take a few months to finish. I've DIY'd some bigger tanks and have all the tools...

I'm definitely interested in the physical mounting to the wall. This tank is not for in the wall, but a thin profile external tank. Since it's thin, the CG is high and since I'm in quake country I don't want this thing toppling over on me on my couch.

Something in the 60"x6"x10" range, with a flow-through design with water supply on one side, directed across tank, overflow on other side. I'm thinking a remote sump on other side of wall would be best to counteract the effects of evaporation on this small volume - especially where the supply reservoir is (since it's a constant water level in display portion).

I started a blog for building the tank. More for fun than anything else. I'm going to try to get some pictures up this weekend. Water isn't far behind...
